October 31–December 19
No class November 7 or November 28

Build your slab skills, and make something you'll actually use!

New to clay? Or ready to take your slab-building skills to the next level? In this beginner-friendly handbuilding class, you'll discover how molds and templates can open up a whole new world of possibilities!

We'll explore the fundamentals of slab construction while learning how to drape, press, shape, join, and refine clay using a variety of molds and templates. You'll learn how these tools can help create consistent forms while still leaving plenty of room for creativity and personal style.

We'll work on functional forms such as plates, bowls, and casserole dishes, while exploring texture, underglaze, and surface decoration to make each piece uniquely yours.

Already taken Starting with Slabs: Foundations of Slab Building? This class is a natural next step! You'll build on the skills from the first course while learning new approaches to slab building with molds and templates.

And if you're simply looking to expand your slab-building knowledge and add some new techniques to your creative toolbox, you're absolutely welcome! Prior experience is not required.

You'll leave with new handbuilding skills, new techniques to practice, and ceramic pieces you're proud to use and display.
